The Jewish Underground was exposed by the Shabak (the Israeli Security Agency) after a lengthy intelligence effort. Members of the organization were responsible for attacks in major Palestinian cities and other operations in the Palestinian sector in June 1980. Twenty-eight suspects were detained and prosecuted, convicted and sentenced to prison terms of various lengths.
