Fighters of the Israeli Navy 13th Fleet and a Sayeret Matkal raided Green Island, a small artificial island at the southern mouth of the Suez Canal. The operation was preceded by intelligence gathering and the preparation of detailed target files. Six IDF soldiers were killed and 11 wounded, and dozens of Egyptians were killed.
